TX Biltong Slab - Smoked Chili Pepper
I’m a huge fan of beef jerky. It’s my go to snack on any adventure because it offers high levels of protein, its lightweight, and it tastes awesome. Biltong is South Africa’s version of jerky, and dare I say, it might even be better. I recently met the founders of TX Biltong at American Field’s Austin Holiday Market and was able to sample some of their products. With 32g of protein per serving and a great flavor profile, this snack company offers the perfect grab n go option for any & every adventure. Try out their Smoked Chili Pepper Beef Slab for those longer excursions, their pre-sliced bags (most similar to jerky) for a car snack, or one of their beef sticks for a quick bite on the trail. I cannot recommend their products enough.

Ocotillo House Blend Salt
Cole and his team have a great little spice blend going on over at Ocotillo. Perfect for dressing a beer, rimming a margarita, or topping your favorite fruit or candy. I’m partial to Ocotillo coated gushers. IYKYK
SpyderCo Smock
This has been my go to knife for over two years now. It’s a great fit in our QuickDraw pants, it has great texture even when wet, has a k tip for opening boxes, and is easily deployed with either the thumbhole or flipper. Plus it just looks awesome. Whether its his first knife or just another addition to his collection, the Smock is a great EDC knife.
Olight Arkfeld Pro Flashlight
This little thing is awesome. While $70 may seem expensive for a flashlight, I’ve found it to be a pretty nifty tool both on and off the river. The UV light is great for curing UV resin when tying flies, the laser pointer is perfect for spotting/pointing out fish, and the flashlight is handy for obvious reasons. I’m sure there are a multitude of other use cases out there, but that’s just how I’ve benefitted so far. Bonus, it fits perfectly in our QuickDraw pocket.
Shady Rays Navigator Sunglasses
I’ve had so many pairs of sunglasses it hurts. I lose the cheap ones, and the expensive ones fall apart. I tried these on a whim two years back just looking for a decent pair of sunglasses to travel with, and I’ve been seriously impressed. I reach for them time and time again because they offer great clarity even when fishing in low light, but they also look great in more professional settings, unlike my high end fishing sunglasses. Did I mention they offer $15 replacements if you lose or break them? Can’t beat ‘em.
Bar-U-Eat Oatmeal Raisin Granola Bar
One of my favorite snacks these days is Bar-U-Eat’s Oatmeal Raisin granola bar. Not only is it delicious, but it’s made in Steamboat, CO and is packed with healthy ingredients to fuel your adventures.
